PRT | Sex Therapy is an advanced, integrated talking therapy using several components – psychosexual therapy, relationship therapy, and broader psychotherapy. During therapy we will discuss many intimate topics, but you will never be asked to do anything sexual in-session. The College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT) produce a number of factsheets on what therapy involves, different therapy approaches, and common problems. These can be accessed by following this link https://www.cosrt.org.uk/factsheets/
What we call something matters, because it's name determines how we treat it. If your sexual urges, thoughts & behaviours feel out of control, then it’s a problem. If the consequences of these behaviours stop you living your best life possible, then it’s a problem.
The label sex & porn addiction is controversial. It is not an actual diagnosis, and it is not supported by science. For some, self-identifying as a sex or porn addict likely increases pain and suffering over time. Despite this, society, as well as many therapists, continue to label what is often consensual variations of healthy sexual health, self-identity & well-being as a problem.
I do not work within the sex addiction model. Instead, I offer a, sex-positive, evidence-based sexual health approach based on the science of human sexuality, using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). My aim is to help you better understand your relationship with sex & porn, and to find a self-felt vision of sexual health that you feel good about.

Sexual trauma is the exposure to any sexually inappropriate behaviors that cause a person to experience a great deal of stress. This exposure happens without their consent or when consent is not given freely. Related distress is often in the form of fear, shame, anxiety, or depression, although not everyone responds to stress or trauma the same way. Regardless, no one should have to deal with it alone; there is help available. Click here for sexual trauma therapy information.
GSRD outside of the perceived standards of heteronormative & cisnormative society, are frequently viewed as abnormal, broken or unhealthy. This can bring a felt-sense of shame and internalised negativity. I have lived & worked in GSRD | kink communities in Toronto, London & Brighton for over 30 years and welcome diversity.
